Everybody wants to live forever if they could, but science, as of yet, has been unable to make it that way. So we’ll settle for the next best thing: preserving our youthful appearance. And what better way to do so than to take good care of our skin, to preserve its suppleness and prevent wrinkles? Here are some tips we have on how to keep yourself looking fresh and youthful.


1. Oats

Not only are oats diabetic-friendly, due to their low glycemic nature, which doesn’t cause your blood sugar to spike, oats are also good for your skin! Also, high glycemic foods such as refined bread, rice and pasta are known to cause acnes and wrinkles.

Furthermore, oats contain natural plant chemicals which help prevent damage to skin cells and also soothes irritated skin.


2. Fruits

Fruits like oranges and grapefruits have a high water content, which will serve to hydrate your skin and cells, and the large amount of vitamin C, which is integral in the production of collagen, will help keep your skin supple and smooth.


3. Vegetables

An example of a vegetable good for the skin is the brussels sprout. A source of vitamins A & C, as well as folate, the brussels sprout comes more than equipped to deal any issues your skin may face. Vitamin C, as mentioned above, helps keep your skin supple, while vitamin A and folate will protect your skin against the sun!

Broccoli, kale and cauliflower are also alternatives you may wish to try.


4. Salmon

Studies have shown that Omega3 fatty acids may help prevent the growth and spread of skin cancer cells. Furthermore, Omega3 will help keep your skin supple and moisturised. Many fishes, especially salmon, contain plenty of Omega3. Salmon, also contains selenium, a mineral to preserve your skin from sun damage.
